Demand that the Port of San Diego honor its commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions

Say NO to an over 500% increase in greenhouse gas emissions from the Port of San Diego’s proposed Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal Expansion Plan

The Port of San Diego’s current plan to redevelop the Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal means an increase of 540%1 in greenhouse gas emissions which will exacerbate the most harmful effects of climate change and is inconsistent with the climate goals laid out in the Port’s climate action plan. This and the estimated 600%1 increase in toxic air pollution would be especially impactful in nearby, overburdened communities.

As residents of San Diego County, we are calling on the the Port of San Diego to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by modifying the current plan to include greenhouse gas reducing measures such as:

  • Permit only clean zero emission trucks and ships to operate at the terminal.
  • Install renewable energy generation and storage at the terminal.
  • Provide air filters and solar panels to nearby public schools and other public buildings.
