Dear SanDiego350 members,
In case you haven't already heard, we are going to Oakland on February 7th to join the "March for Real Climate Leadership"! Our goal is to impress upon Governor Brown, who lives in Oakland, that real climate leaders don't support climate change accelerants such as fracking, extreme oil extraction practices, oil 'bomb' trains coming across California to deliver to refineries, and more. You can read all about the march at the march's website here: http://marchforclimateleadership.org/

What: The "March for REAL Climate Leadership"
When: Saturday, Feb. 7th, actual march/rally timeframe is 11:30 am to 2:30 pm. Buses will leave at midnight or 12:30 am Feb. 7th (see the link below for details) and return immediately after the march for a 24hr trip.
Where: the March is in Oakland, the buses will leave from Old Town trolley station under the I-5, or from La Costa Park N Ride at the La Costa Exit of I-5
Why: Because you care!
Cost: $30 a seat round trip

We have chartered a bus from San Diego to take us to Oakland and IT IS ALMOST SOLD OUT! We are considering chartering a second bus but we need to build a significant list of folks who commit to going before doing so in order to avoid incurring cancellation fees.

So if you are sitting on the fence about going, get off the fence and join us in an adventure that will be worthwhile.

If you've been meaning to go buy that bus ticket but haven't gotten around to it, now is the time to do so!

And if you can't go but really wish that others could, you can donate to the cause.

We have a large group of high school students from the King-Chavez Community School in San Diego, our recent partners on environmental justice and activism issues, who have signed up to go but aren't able to pay the $30 ticket price. And $30, the cost for anyone buying a bus ticket, is only about half the cost. The full cost of the ticket if we were to recover all costs would be $56. So if you are able to donate, we would really appreciate that as well. Everyone can help make this a reality in some way so that over 100 San Diegans can represent your voices as we tell Governor Brown to "leave the oil in the soil!"

Our goal is to get 10,000 people out in Oakland. Will you join us in this cause either by attending or donating? You can buy a ticket, donate online or do both at this link. If you are already planning to go but not on one of our buses, you should also indicate that here as well (select "Going on my own") so we can contact you with updated information on meeting and march locations once there.

Seats will be given first come first served. If you buy a ticket now but we fail to get enough to warrant a second bus we will refund you. If you are uncomfortable with that arrangement then email Peg@SanDiego350.org and let me know you are making a firm commitment but aren't willing to pay until a second bus is confirmed. I will put you in the queue in order of when I received your email.

Again, to buy a bus ticket or donate to the cause see here: https://sandiego350.org/event/march-for-real-climate-leadership/

Thanks to all of you for making this rally a huge, loud success!
