Interfaith Coalition for Earth Justice (ICEJ) is a volunteer organization of San Diego faith leaders and communities that serve to advocate for climate and environmental justice both in policy and in the public square. We believe that the values held in common by all faith traditions include the care for creation and care for the most vulnerable in society.

Dear ,

If you are feeling despair about what we are facing in our communities, our nation, and in our world, you are not alone. ICEJ is working on ways to make space and to share our grief and to also support and encourage one another in our ongoing environmental justice work. We will have more information on this to come!

One of the ways to go from despair to what Joanna Macy calls, "active hope," is to get engaged and serve in some capacity. We often hope that dedicated people or an inspiring leader will take us out of the challenging places we find ourselves. Yet in truth, as June Jordan so eloquently stated in her Poem for South African Women, "We are the ones we have been waiting for."

Below are opportunities to learn more and engage in making a difference.

Greenfaith's Call for Moral Observers

When: Wednesday, September 23rd @ 11am
Where: Virtual

What: Moral observers are clergy, religious leaders, and people of faith who will be trained to identify, and report on instances of voter suppression in their communities and be trained on the specific laws pertaining to their areas. As religious and faith leaders, this is one of the best ways you can provide leadership to your communities.

Join these calls to learn to identify instances of voter suppression and get trained on how to report these instances. This training will also give you the information about different state laws that you'll need to abide by in order to be a poll observer.
