Let me apologize in advance for sending one more mailing about our Faiths 4 Climate Justice events.  I'm hoping that if you are reading this you are participating in these GreenFaith/ICEJ events in some capacity--organizing a climate witness at your faith community this weekend or attending our Rally on Monday, October 18.  And if you cannot do either, we urge you to take action from home--go to our Advocacy webpage and contact your representative on the Board of Supervisors or President Biden.  Whatever you can do, we thank you for pitching in.  I've always liked Marshall McLuhan's quip that "There are no passengers on planet earth.  We are all crew."

If you are attending the Rally (see info below) I have a couple of housekeeping items which I want to get out to you because we are not doing any pre-registration on this event:

• Please wear a mask--we need to be safe and create a safe space for everyone
• There should be parking (there was plenty when I scoped it out this past Monday) but of course it is even better to carpool, take public transport or bike.
• Bring signs about climate, climate justice, no fossil fuels, etc. if you have them.  We will have some there but perhaps not enough for everyone.
• If you are coming with a particular faith community and have a banner, bring it.
• And bring the usual--hats, sunscreen, cameras/phones etc to take pictures.

Fri. Oct. 15-Sun. Oct. 17--faith communities will call for climate justice using the riches of their own traditions and resources (here) provided by GreenFaith and ICEJ

Mon. Oct. 18  1:00 - 2:15 PM--faith communities and their supporters will come together for the Faiths 4 Climate Justice Rally on the west side of the County Administration Building at the fountain, 1600 Pacific Highway, to present 5 key demands on climate and equity. We ask that these demands be prioritized in the County’s Regional Decarbonization Framework. Our Rally will also feature music, street theatre, reflections and prayers from a diversity of faith traditions. Co-sponsors: California Poor People’s Campaign, Creation Care Ministry of the Catholic Diocese of San Diego, Islamic Center of San Diego, Islamic Society of North County, Palomar Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, SanDiego350, San Diego Green New Deal Alliance, Sustainable Urban Network.
