We just wanted to issue one more reminder on "¡Justicia para el Pueblo! ¡Justicia para la Tierra! | Justice for the People! Justice for the Earth!" – a unique FREE community event focused on environmental justice for the people of southeastern San Diego. If you live in southeastern San Diego, we need your voice at this event which takes place this Saturday, Oct. 5 from 11 AM - 3 PM at the SE Live Well Center, 5101 Market St., San Diego, CA (Tubman Chavez Conference Center). Faith leaders, congregations, and all concerned citizens from the neighborhoods of Barrio Logan, Chollas View, City Heights, Emerald Hills, Lincoln Park, Logan Heights, Mt. Hope, National City and more will come together for an:
- Eco Fair (11 AM - 12 PM & 2 PM - 3 PM): Over 15 faith-based and secular environmental organizations will host tables presenting their projects and the resources they offer to the community. An opportunity drawing will be held both before and after the Town Hall.
- Town Hall (12 PM - 2 PM): Residents will share their environmental concerns and collaborate with other community members to identify one specific issue and develop an action plan to address it. A free lunch will be provided.
Together, we will work towards justice for our people and our Earth! For more information, please contact Phil Petrie at phil@icejsd.org.
