EarthKeeping: An Interfaith DIalogue (Panel Discussion)
All major faith traditions have a mandate for caring for Earth as a basic principle. An Interfaith Panel with
representatives from various faith traditions will discuss their beliefs in terms of caring for and protecting
Creation, especially in light of the climate crisis. We'll also look at how these beliefs are being translated
into practical action for a more ethical and sustainable world.
Panelists include Karma Lekshe Tsomo, Associate Professor, Theology & Religious Studies, University of San
Diego (Buddhist), Dr. Glen Scorgie, Professor of Theology and Ethics at Bethel Seminary, San Diego
(Evangelical), Imam Taha Hassane, Islamic Center of San Diego (Muslim), Rev. Dr. Beth Johnson, Minister of
Palomar Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Vista, CA (Unitarian).

March and Rally in Balboa Park
Moving Planet is a worldwide rally taking place at hundreds of locations to demand more viable solutions to
climate change from our elected representatives. We'll have signs, banners, drums and more. March: about
1.2 miles on paved sidewalks. Rally: on the lawn next to the Sports Museum.
To begin with the March: Gather on the East (Balboa Park) side of Sixth Avenue between Laurel and Juniper.
To attend only the Rally, go to the San Diego Sports Museum/Hall of Champions area (2131 Pan American
Plaza, San Diego, CA 92101. There are parking lots at that end of the park.) Rally will start at 12:30 pm.
Speakers include Congressman Bob Filner, Mayor Lesa Heebner of Solana Beach, Rev. Dr. Beth Johnson,
Minister of Palomar Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Vista, CA, Bill Powers, P.E., Sierra Club Executive
Committee & regional energy expert and Marshall Saunders, Founder and President, Citizens Climate Lobby.

Leave the car home: Fun ways to arrive by bike or transit
Organized bike rides from SDSU and Mission Bay. Designated Sprinter, Coaster and trolleys to gather on
festively, with signs. Specific trolleys. What better day to start on a low-carbon diet?
