Stop SDG&E’s Illegal Lobbying against Clean Energy - Demand Action From Regulators

Petition To the California Public Utilities Commission

UPDATE: THIS ACTION HAS ENDED WITH OVER 1000 SIGNATURES! THANK YOU!

SDG&E and its parent company Sempra Energy are illegally lobbying against Community Choice Energy (CCE, also known as Community Choice Aggregation), a program which offers an alternative to SDG&E’s energy monopoly and the only viable path for our region to achieve 100% clean energy. In fact, SDG&E has been breaking the law since September.

State law requires a utility to receive approval from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) if it wishes to lobby on the topic of CCE. The CPUC made it clear that the SDG&E initial lobbying plan failed to comply with the law and has not been approved. As the San Diego Union Tribune just reported, the latest commission statement on SDG&E lobbying was crystal clear in noting that SDG&E’s marketing division has never received approval to lobby on CCE.

Now is the time to act!

Sign our petition to the CPUC Commissioners to demand that they require SDG&E to stop lobbying on CCE immediately and to impose the maximum possible fine on SDG&E for its flagrant immoral and illegal actions! We plan to deliver the petition signatures to the CPUC Commissioners by March 20, 2017. Deadline extended until April 30!
