President Biden & Senators Schiff and Butler: Prioritize Climate Action!
Act now, before the inauguration, to curb greenhouse gas emissions and combat Trump’s anti-climate agenda
We are deeply concerned about the fate of climate action after this election, and are calling on President Biden, Senator Schiff, and Senator Butler to prioritize the following four actions:
- Protect the Inflation Reduction Act. Finalize proposed regulations and push out all funds for renewable energy and other projects.
- Protect vulnerable areas from oil and gas drilling. Protect public lands and issue executive orders to block pipelines, e.g., Line 5, Dakota Access, and Keystone.
- Expedite approval of California’s vehicle waivers to allow California to enforce its stricter efficiency standards and end sales of gas-only vehicles by 2035. This will reduce pollution and emissions, and extend benefits to the 17 states which follow our standards.
- Fill all judicial vacancies. President Biden: Nominate impartial judges who will protect civil liberties and enforce environmental regulation; Senators: Expedite confirmation.
