This April, East County BIPOC and the Spring Valley Cleanup Crew will host the 1st Earth Day in El Cajon and the 2nd in Spring Valley! Both of these organizations are dedicated to addressing environmental injustices and empowering their communities. These underserved neighborhoods face disproportionately high levels of pollution and traffic, negative health impacts, as well as high rates of poverty. Help us bring earth day celebrations and education to east county this year!

Did you know?

  • The neighborhood around Bill Beck Park in El Cajon has asthma rates higher than 63% of census tracts in California, and is burdened by more pollution than 93% of census tracts!
  • Spring Valley’s tree canopy is diminishing, and the county needs to plant more than 550 trees!

Our Goals:

  • Increase urban tree canopy
  • Empower the community through education
  • Shut down the air-polluting Peak Power Plant in El Cajon
  • Encourage more sustainable habits by providing eco-friendly resources
  • Advocate for Community Choice Energy

We need your help to make these events as fun, resourceful and educational as we can!
All donations will go directly to East County BIPOC and Spring Valley Cleanup Crew, both volunteer-led organizations. Funds will be used for Earth Day activities such as tree planting, regenerative agriculture and cooking demos, and vegan meals for the community, as well as succulents for the kids!.

Please donate what you can!
