Paloma Aguirre – San Diego County District 1 Supervisor
Supervisor Paloma Aguirre is a proud first-generation Mexican-American and long-time community organizer and public servant whose career has been shaped by her dedication to environmental justice and advocacy for working families. Aguirre made history as the first Latina elected to both the Imperial Beach City Council and later as Mayor, where she championed efforts to clean up the Tijuana River Valley and pushed for federal investment to address public health crises caused by sewage pollution. In 2025, she was elected to the San Diego County Board of Supervisors representing District 1. She brings a strong voice for immigrant communities, environmental justice, and housing equity, and has already made a mark by securing federal funds for wastewater infrastructure and taking on leadership as Chair Pro Tempore of the Board.

Jim Miller Vice President of AFT Local 1931 & SD350 Board Member
Jim joined the Board in 2019. He is a native San Diegan and holds an MFA in fiction from SDSU and a Ph.D. in American Culture Studies from Bowling Green State University. Miller is the co-author of the local history Under the Perfect Sun: The San Diego Tourists Never See as well as the author of the novels Drift, Flash, Last Days in Ocean Beach, the poetry collection Paradise and Other Lost Places and several other works. He teaches at San Diego City College and is a Vice President of the American Federation of Teachers, Local 1931 and a founding member of the San Diego Imperial Counties Labor Council’s Environmental Caucus, part of the CFT’s Labor and Climate Education Committee, and a member the AFT National Climate Committee.

Taarika Sethee – SanDiego350’s Youth4Climate Intern
Taarika is SanDiego350’s Youth4Climate intern, is a sophomore at Canyon Crest Academy. Being born and raised in San Diego, Taarika cannot imagine a world without the beautiful beaches rimming the coast, the lazy lagoons where wildlife thrives, the canyons hidden between nooks of the Earth, and the stunning environment that is at the heart of her home. Through SD350, Taarika has gained the knowledge and support to lead change in their community. She now recognizes the power of youth voices in the intergenerational fight against climate change.

Karlos Paez from the B-Side Players
The B–Side Players are a band part of a new movement in popular music. A band that honors the international cross-pollination that has always made music the universal language. They use any beat that catches their ear, regardless of geography or genre, to create a compelling, horn driven, polyrhythmic groove.
