Join us at the San Diego City Council Environment Committee hearing to call for public power! Councilmembers will review a report that’s supposed to include a roadmap for public power — that is, a plan to fire San Diego Gas & Electric and replace it with a nonprofit public utility. We need to show up strong, to ensure the report isn’t just filed away and forgotten.
Please sign up today to attend in person or online (in-person is much more powerful). We plan on doing a presentation with our allies (Public Power San Diego, the Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment, Climate Action Campaign and In Good Company). Showing up and ceding your speaking time will help the speakers have more time to make a strong presentation. We’ll also share a toolkit with talking points closer to the event.
Signing up also lets us notify you if there’s a change to the agenda.
The committee meeting begins at 1:00 PM. We’ll meet downstairs outside in the breezeway fifteen minutes ahead of time (at 12:45 PM), and go up to council chambers together.
