Community Teams
The Events Team plans and executes org-wide large scale events such as fundraising events, community engagement events, and educational events.
WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON
- Growing the annual Fundraiser Gala and Youth4Climate Fundraiser
- Planning community-building events including Party4thePlanet
- Support event planning in other teams
WHAT OUR VOLUNTEERS DO
- Plan and run fundraising and community events including by finding venues, schedules, registration, and day-of coordination
- Secure in-kind donations, sponsors, and silent auction items from local businesses and partners.
- Collaborate with other SD350 teams to provide planning support and on-site help for their events.
- Assist with outreach and promotion by coordinating with the Marketing & Communications team.
- Participate in team meetings and trainings to build event-planning skills and strengthen volunteer leadership.
Team Accomplishments
- Raised roughly $30,000 at the 2025 Brighter Future Gala featuring a Silent Auction with 28 items and approximately 200 guests
- Planned Party4thePlanet (our donor and volunteer appreciation party) with about 70 participants
- Supported other teams, including co-organizing the Youth4Climate Fundraiser which raised over $10,000
Fun Fact!
The Events team has a tradition of holding a team beach day and friendly volleyball competition after the gala!
How TO GET INVOLVED
The Events team meets bi-weekly on Mondays from 5:30-6:30 pm. Fill out the volunteer interest form to get involved.
