San Diego Climate Mitigation Plans

Under a state mandate, both the City and the Port of San Diego are required to develop climate mitigation and adaptation plans (CMAPs) to address changes in climate, sea level, and other factors that are expected over the next 30 years due to global warming. SanDiego350.org is joining with the San Diego Environmental Health Coalition and other local groups to provide input for both these plans. The next hearing on the City’s CMAP will be in the fall, 2012. We will let you know the date when it is established. The next hearing for the Port’s CMAP will be June 12, at 1:00 pm at the Port Administration Building, 3165 Pacific Highway. The Port Commissioners will be voting only on the emissions reduction goals, not the full plan yet. We encourage you to come out and support strong emissions reduction goals that are in line with state targets for 2020 and 2035.
