Join us for an afternoon of clothing repair and climate resilience at the Mission Valley Library! We will be in the Homeschool Resource Room. This event is welcome to current, past, and new members of Youth4Climate and Youth v. Oil as well as adult supporters. The Mission Valley Library is a two minute walk from the Fenton Parkway Trolley Station on the green line, we encourage you to take public transportation or carpool with others! Please email mcgarrah@sandiego350.org if you need a ride and we can organize a carpool.
For the first hour we will have a climate resiliency workshop aimed at combatting eco-anxiety run by Ky Ngo Dennis, LMFT who is a Spiritual Somatic Therapist and longtime amazing adult volunteer, Jennifer Phelps. Then we will do clothing repair, alterations, and embroidery led by youth volunteer and style icon, Diego Sandoval. Please bring any clothing you need to repair or want to alter/embroider, or any clothes you no longer wear that you’d like to swap or donate!
Waivers are required for youth under 18: please be sure to provide a signed waiver by emailing mcgarrah@sandiego350.org or bringing a hard copy in person.
