Join us for an in-person Community Town Hall Meeting in partnership with ACCE with educational speakers, interactive activities, and organization booths in National City. We will be providing free lunch and Spanish/English translation services.
Come support a CA Polluters Pay Climate Superfund, a state bill that would make the largest oil companies in CA pay for the climate damages they’ve caused, with the money going towards cleaning up after climate disasters, climate resilience projects (like updating stormwater infrastructure), and climate solutions like clean energy and public transit. There is also a threat of federal blanket immunity for big oil, meaning that oil companies couldn’t be sued or held accountable via climate superfunds.
Meet our amazing speakers:
- Dr. Vi Nguyen – South Bay Pediatrician representing SD Pediatrics for Clean Air and
the American Academy of Pediatrics CA - Sofia Carrasco – Youth v. Oil Intern and youth advocate
- Maria Irvin – ACCE member and San Diego flood survivor
- More speakers coming soon!
We will have interactive workshops including:
- Lobbying and how to talk to your elected officials
- Storytelling
- Non-cooperation and direct action training
- Postcard writing and art station
Come and learn how to get more involved and hold Big Oil accountable!
