RAPID RESPONSE PLAN

SD350’s Stand Up for Democracy campaign has created a Rapid Response (RR) Team to identify, vet, and lead our response to election interference by our federal government. This is a small group of members who are monitoring national and local channels and planning training for our members as needed before the election. You can join this team by emailing democracy@sandiego350.org. 

SD350 members can also commit to responding to the call when it comes.  By committing, you help SD350 and our coalition allies forecast the strength of our response. We also plan to offer training and resources. 

Here’s what you can expect from SD350 if an emergency rapid response is needed:

• The RR Team leaders will stay in touch with network groups to identify election interference.
• SD350 will evaluate information about election interference to determine if we should act.
• If SD350 decides to act, it will be in concert with our partners and the joint action could be anything from a mass mobilization or protest to smaller actions such as contacting political leaders or anything in between.
• The RR Team will notify SD350 members (you!) about these actions and ask for your participation. These notifications will be by text, email and/or phone calls
• SD350 members may also be asked to do support for mass mobilizations (roles like peacekeepers, providing food and logistical support) and/or to be a witness at local sites of voter suppression and intimidation.
• The RR Team leaders will provide training to SD350 members who want to join us about how to do this work.
