We are excited to announce the winners of the Stand Up for Democracy Poster Contest. After much deliberation our judges selected three poster designs for first, second, and third places, as well as 15 honorable mentions. Congratulations to our top three designs by Kaylan Allen (1st place), Gina Capobianco (2nd place) and Sebastian Diaz (3rd place) – see their posters here. Please download them to share on social media or print them out and put them up. The posters reflect the important public message that EVERY VOTE COUNTS!
These posters were selected from dozens of designs submitted by San Diego County high school and college students who participated in this “Get Out the Vote” initiative of SanDiego350.org. All 18 posters will be featured on Instagram at the sd350.org site, and of course the first, second, and third place designs will be posted throughout San Diego County at various businesses and libraries.
We will be showing all 18 student poster designs at two upcoming exhibition receptions:
- Art Produce Gallery Exhibition & Reception Oct. 3 @ 5-7 pm REGISTER
- To view the posters on Oct. 1 and Oct. 2, the gallery can be accessed from Botanica Art & Cocktails (Next door to Art Produce): the gallery door from the hallway will be open. Botanica hours: 5-8pm. Art Produce and Botanica are at 3139 University Ave.
- City College Gallery Reception Oct. 20 @ 5-7pm REGISTER
- The gallery will be open from 12-4pm. City College,1508 C St., Building AH, Room AH 314, (near the corner of 16th and C Street), San Diego 92101. This exhibit is one day only.
SanDiego350’s Stand Up For Democracy- Get Out The Vote initiative’s immediate concern is the midterm elections taking place on November 3, 2026. The Trump administration has launched a concerted drive to undermine American elections. These moves are unprecedented and, in some cases, illegal. As the 2026 midterms approach, that effort is already gathering momentum and we need to do all we can to prevent this!
