Why March?

• Climate disasters are ramping up and hitting close to home, hurting communities of concern the most. Wildfires, flooding, extreme heat – we can’t let this be California’s new normal.
   
  To celebrate earth day, let’s come together for a healthy, green planet for all living beings. And now, more than ever, that vision must be deeply connected to racial, economic and other justice efforts. This earth day, be part of a unified, resilient, hopeful, engaged community.
   
• Trump’s onslaught is revealing a presidency that is vengeful and cruel: rolling back climate protections, boosting fossil fuel extraction, illegally dismissing federal workers, ramping up deportations, and creating a constitutional crisis to advance a dark vision of America that threatens our diverse community.
   
• Fossil fuel companies and utilities are trying to halt progress on clean energy. It’s up to us to keep San Diego and California on track – to lead the charge to defend democratic institutions and ensure California provides good jobs, affordable housing, as part of a healthier green economy. We need San Diego and California to step up to the fight. 
   
• Let’s pass the Polluters Pay Climate Superfund (SB 684 and AB 1243) is simple. Make Polluters Pay will enact a legislative mechanism designed to hold fossil fuel companies financially accountable for the environmental damage caused by their emissions.
