2025 Accomplishments

THIS YEAR WE...

Led Bold, Strategic Campaigns

State Legislation and Advocacy Wins

We successfully advocated in coalition for energy affordability bills and launched the Climate Advocacy Alert Network (CAAN) to activate members to take timely action on key advocacy issues.

Helped Pass Proposition 50

We made over 850 calls and knocked on over 650 doors to turn out the Yes vote. This victory will help level the playing field for the 2026 elections and stand up to Trump’s attacks on our democracy and our climate.

Pushed for Better Transportation

We rallied, gave public comment, and met with SANDAG Board Members to advocate for a 2025 Regional Transportation Plan that prioritizes transit, biking and emission cuts. An early win: getting over half of planned highway expansions canceled.

Empowered Youth

Campaigned to Make Polluters Pay

Youth traveled to Sacramento to speak with legislators and attend a committee meeting, held a press conference, and passed resolutions at San Diego, La Mesa, and Vista city councils supporting state bills to hold fossil fuel companies accountable.

Mobilized Youth for Climate Justice

We mobilized over 1,300 students from 19 schools across the county to walk out of class as part of a coordinated statewide action our youth co-led in support of the Make Polluters Pay bills (news).

South Bay Clean Energy Education

Our South Bay Clean Energy Education program is piloting clean energy curricula developed last year in 9 classes at 3 South Bay high schools, with our 3 high school interns supporting outreach and student feedback.

Strengthened & Skilled Up the Movement

Grew Volunteer Leadership Skills

We trained over 150 intergenerational participants at our Legislative Training, Transportation Policy Training, and Leadership Training, strengthening advocacy skills and giving members tools to grow as organizers and leaders.

Fostered Connections

We created spaces to connect, heal and build community and purpose together, including picnics, movie nights, kayaking, farm visits, and the launch of our book club, engaging over 350 members.

Built Youth Power and Community

Youth4Climate organized their largest summit yet, bringing together nearly 100 youth for networking with community leaders, peer-learning, and workshops. Youth learned about creating impactful change, policy, and combating climate anxiety.

Stood Up for Climate Justice & Democracy

United for Climate Action

We organized the Unite for Climate march in coalition with 60+ partner groups, bringing together over 1,500 San Diegans to make their voices heard for climate justice. We also turned out for the No Kings and other major protests.

Defended Climate Protections

We rallied nearly 200 participants in support of EPA and NOAA workers and protested visiting EPA Director Zeldin. Our Raise the Alarm Team kept attention on Trump’s anti-climate agenda with over 15 highway flash banner events.

Partnered for Justice and Equity

We partnered with justice and equity organizations on our campaigns. In a win for environmental justice, we rallied with allies to successfully block a proposed biodiesel transfer station in National City.
