Calling out SDG&E’s excessive profits (press conference)

Join our San Diego Energy Justice Coalition press conference to protest SDG&E sky-high profits. On Thursday, August 6, Sempra, SDG&E’s parent company, is releasing their second quarter earnings report. For the first three months of the year, SDG&E reported extracting $296 million dollars in PROFIT from San Diegans — as we once again are paying the highest residential electricity rates in the continental United States. 

Enough already. 

Drawing attention to the high rates now is especially critical as the legislative session is drawing to a close in Sacramento, and there are creditable rumors that the governor is working on a secret deal that would shift more costs of wildfires from investor-owned utilities to the public (either as taxpayers or ratepayers).
