Our title – Voices in the Storm – means that despite scary news and troubles in the world, we fight together as one. We often feel we can do nothing to stop the climate crisis. But together, it is possible! This event is meant to empower youth voices and show you all that your voice matters. Join us, as we tackle diverse topics like environmental justice and participate in interactive discussions and activities.
Attendees will:
- Hear from youth activists, community organizers, and our keynote speaker Juan Reynoso, Indigenous-2Spirit storyteller, advocate, teacher, and co-founder of The Queer Sol Collective
- Participate in workshops including Climate Policy and Legislation 101, How to Tell Your Story, Indigenous Knowledge of Climate Change, and Combatting Climate Anxiety
- Build community with like-minded youth in group activities
- Learn how to create impactful change!
We welcome people of all ages to join us! This is a super fun event that is not just educational, but also interactive and social. Meet other San Diego youth who care about the environment and get involved in climate action! For students, we also offer community service and many partnering teachers give extra credit for their class!
Testimonials from youth:
