Join us at Art Produce at the special reception on Oct 3, 5-7 PM to celebrate the winners of the Stand Up for Democracy Poster Contest. To view the posters on Oct. 1 and Oct. 2, the gallery can be accessed from Botanica Art & Cocktails (Next door to Art Produce): the gallery door from the hallway will be open. Botanica hours: 5-8pm. Art Produce and Botanica are at 3139 University Ave.
These posters were selected from dozens of designs submitted by San Diego County high school and college students.
We need to communicate to voters that voting is the heart of democracy and that voters must exercise that right so that they can keep it. The poster design contest will help increase voter turnout and inform the public of federal attempts to restrict our right to vote. Students who participate–even if they are not yet of voting age–will think more about the importance of voting in a democracy and thereby become better citizens.
