Free and fair elections are the heart of our democracy and are threatened this year by the federal administration. On the day California begins mailing out midterm ballots, SanDiego350 is joining with local community-based organizations to hold a press conference to inform the public that together we will protect elections and act to block any efforts by the Federal administration to sow fear, intimidate voters, and subvert elections.
At the press conference we will hear from election officials, local politicians, and representatives of organizations working to protect free and fair elections. We will also present a letter to the people of San Diego and urge the public to vote early, vote securely and resist if necessary.

The Trump administration’s narrative of voter fraud is false.
The administration is attempting to suppress votes by undermining mail-in voting and using ICE and federal election “monitors” to intimidate voters of color.
This interference is a move away from democracy and toward authoritarianism
We can defend democracy – VOTE EARLY and VOTE SECURE!
And be prepared to RESIST if election results are ignored.
