The North County team works to educate and activate individuals, elected officials, businesses, organizations, and governing bodies to decrease the carbon footprint of North County San Diego, areas including Oceanside, Escondido, Carlsbad, Vista, San Marcos, Encinitas, Poway, Solana Beach, Del Mar, and Census Designated Places, unincorporated communities, and northern reaches of the City of San Diego.
WHAT WE'RE WORKING ON
- Pass Let’s Go San Diego Initiative (Measure G) in North County
- Push local school boards to switch to 100% renewable energy and offer more plant-based food options.
- Partner with the Surfrider Foundation’s Ocean Friendly Restaurants program to sign North County businesses up to reduce their single-use plastic use.
- Educate and provide opportunities for individuals and businesses to switch to 100% renewable energy from CCA (Community Choice Aggregators) providers, including Clean Energy Alliance in North County
WHAT OUR VOLUNTEERS DO
- Plan quarterly social and educational events for North County
- Attend local events to educate North County about switching to renewable energy and plant-based eating
- Meet with elected officials in North County and secure endorsements and support on key issues
Team Accomplishments
- Successfully lobbied Vista Unified to commit to going 100% electric
- 2 action days flyering Coaster stations to convince Padres fans to vote YES on Measure G
- Hosted Open House featuring kids games, partner organizations, and more

The North County team collected almost half of all the signatures collected by SD350 volunteers to qualify Let’s Go! San Diego (Measure G) in 2023
How TO GET INVOLVED
The North County team meets one Sunday each month from 12:00 pm-1:30 pm at Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Carlsbad.
